
Delivering the
Biggest Ever Football Session
The task
To raise public and political awareness on behalf of The FA of the inaugural 'Biggest Ever Football Session', which saw 90,000 girls playing football across England on International Women's Day.
My role
To lead my team to develop and deliver an effective political strategy at several levels of government, and liaise with multiple stakeholders within The FA to ensure all communication was aligned with brand and marketing goals.
The outcome
The Biggest Ever Football Session was raised in Parliament by Kim Leadbeater MP, as well as by the then-Education Secretary Nadhim Zadhawi. The campaign gained momentum going into the Women's EUROs 2022, and following the Lionesses' victory, the sustained political engagement secured £230 million investment from the Government in girls' grassroots football.
